About

UR rentals in Tokyo go fast, and the official site has no alerts. I was checking it by hand every day, so I built a service to do it for me.

You can start with one saved search without signing up. Sign in with Google later and your searches and history come with you. To ask in a chat with Claude or ChatGPT instead, there's UR MCP App.

I'm now merging this with UR MCP App into one project, UR Check. When it's done, this page stays as a record of how the project changed and why.

What it does

Saved searches
Area, rent, floor space, layout and walk time across Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama and Ibaraki.
Scheduled checks
Each search is checked on its own interval between 08:00 and 20:00 JST.
Change-only emails
One summary when you turn alerts on, then only rooms that are new or listed again.
Guest to member
Searches and history move over in one step when you sign in with Google.
History
Every check and every email is listed with its result.
Creating a search step by step: area, rent, layout, size and walk time, checks and a name
Home page with saved searches, a newly found room with its floor plan, and recent checks

Engineering notes

One container, on purpose

React and Spring ship as one image on a single replica. It keeps the scheduler and sessions simple for a service this size.

No transactions around the network

Calls to UR and the email service run outside database transactions, so a slow request or a failed email never rolls back a good scan.

A partial scan is a failed scan

If any page fails, the whole check fails and the previous state stays. Better to miss one run than to send a wrong “new room” email.

Not affiliated with UR (Urban Renaissance Agency). Always confirm availability on the official UR site.
